Introduction to Tinkercad

robotic arm made in tinkercad

Learn the easy-to-use, web based 3D modeling software, Tinkercad!

You will learn the first steps to building your idea into a computer aided design (CAD) that will allow you to eventually 3D print a prototype (3D printing is not part of this class). This course will begin with the basics of CAD design including:

  • Parametric Modeling Fundamentals
  • Constructive Solid Geometry Concepts
  • Geometric Construction Tools
  • Geometric Relations Fundamentals

Following each in-class session filled with hands-on examples, you will have a project to work on from home until the next class session.

This class will be held in-person with small group sessions at the Berks LaunchBox. Masks and social distancing will be required.  Tinkercad is a web based, free, design tool which you can also use on your home computer to complete assignments and quickly turn your ideas into CAD models.

The cost of this program is being subsidized by the Marlin and Ginger Miller Endowment for Education, Innovation and Design Thinking made to the Berks LaunchBox.
