Step 2: Build your Business’s First Website

Hands-on class at the Berks LaunchBox utilizing the free tool. Google Sites, to begin building a website for beginners who are comfortable using a computer.

You will learn:

  1. How to pick and purchase a domain name.  
  2. Choose a web host/website builder.    
  3. Decide on the website layout: single page, multipage, best practices
  4. Building each page with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in mind and tools to help the process.
  5. Incorporating images.  
  6. Reviewing and publishing. 
  7. Make sure Google sees your website. 
  8. Quick tips on advertising your site.

John starting using Google products when he was a public school teacher in Pennsylvania in the mid-2000s. He quickly saw how powerful the products were that Google gives away for free. He has been building Google Sites webpages for almost 15 years since they first opened up the product. John has continued to build websites, trained countless Google first-timers, and helped startup organizations develop around Google products. He has always wanted to help small businesses and now has the tools and the knowledge to confidently step out and help others leverage this great product.

Tuesday, August 23: 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. – free class held at the Berks LaunchBox, at the Goggleworks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington Street, Suite 105, Reading, PA 19601. Free parking on flat lot in rear of the building. Enter from 2nd Street.

Limited seats. Priority will be given to startups working with the Berks LaunchBox who attend First Steps to Beginner Website Building class on 8/17/22.
