Share Your Art, Share Your Story: Social Media for Artists

Pottery Booth
Ready to move beyond posting pictures? Learn how to effectively share your art and creative process on Instagram. Join us for a hands-on session with artist, Heidi Sensenig, and leave with your first practice Instagram reel!

Social media is a powerful tool for artists — but using it well requires more than just posting pictures. In this session, artist Heidi Sensenig will break down her approach to building an authentic and engaging online presence. Using Heidi’s 3-step process, you’ll learn practical strategies for creating content, connecting with followers, and balancing promotion with authentic storytelling. Perfect for artists who want to create compelling video content without getting overwhelmed by complex editing.

A few small changes are all you need to attract new opportunities, grow your audience, and share more than just your finished work — focusing on your process, creativity, and story.

This class is geared toward artists who are already familiar with basic social media platforms. We’ll focus specifically on Instagram, and each participant will create a practice Instagram reel (short video) during class. If you don’t already have an Instagram account for your art, please sign up and familiarize yourself a bit with the platform before attending.

You’ll leave:

  • Excited to share your creative process, not just the final product
  • Energized with new ways to present your art and what makes it uniquely yours
  • Ready to channel your creativity to fuel your social media presence
  • Proud of your first Instagram reel, created step-by-step in class

What to Bring:
Prior to class, take some photos or short video clips on your phone of yourself creating while you work! 10-30 seconds max! You can also bring a tool or two that you currently use to create your art, and/or a small piece of your artwork to feature in your practice reel.

This will be a two-hour class:

  • The first hour will cover strategy, inspiration, and tips
  • The second hour will be hands-on, creating your first Instagram reel with guidance and support

Heidi Sensenig is a passionate artist and educator who brings a unique blend of creativity and scientific insight to her work. With a lifelong love for art, she studied at Elizabethtown College, earning a minor in Fine Arts with a focus on Ceramics, before going on to complete a B.S. in Occupational Therapy. She is passionate about mindful methods of creating, believing they not only enhance artistic expression but also contribute to overall well-being.

In addition to her studio work, Heidi has been actively building and promoting her art business through fun and inventive approaches, finding new ways to share her work and connect with others. Through her workshops and classes, she inspires others to embrace creativity as a path to healing, learning, and community connection. She is driven by a desire to ignite a love for art in others and help them tap into their own artistic voice.
