Learn High-Res 3D Printing

Learn how to use our FormLabs 3D Printer!

The FormLabs printer is an SLA 3D printer, which creates a slurry of resin and points a laser at it to harden the material. It is different from the FDM printers (like our Dremel 3D45s) in that it can print much higher resolution models. Below is an example of one that I made a few weeks ago. The printer uses the PreForm software as its slicing software, which is much easier to use than other Cura based slicing software. Here is a link to the download it. You do not need to download the software on your personal computer if you do not want to, we have it on all of the Berks LaunchBox ones. We only have one FormLabs printer, and it takes a significant amount of time to print, so we will only be printing one example at the time of the class.

Friday, April 14thfrom 11am-1pm at the Berks LaunchBox makerspace. Please email Ryan Light if you are interested in attending this #FREE event.
