BBTC was launched to improve health in Reading through better nutrition & increased physical activity.
In August 2015, Jim Shankweiler, an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Penn State Berks Business Program, launched BBTC to improve health in Reading by improving nutrition and increasing physical activity. Consequently, the project is following a holistic, transformational strategy addressing food access, economic development, crime, and education–accomplished through grassroots partnerships.
