Koffee Dreams Roasters Joins the Berks LaunchBox
We’re excited to introduce Karla Garro, founder of Koffee Dreams Roasters, as a new coworking company at the Berks LaunchBox! Karla’s passion for ethically sourced, small-batch coffee roasting grew into a full-fledged business idea last fall, when she enrolled in our Idea TestLab startup accelerator.
With deep roots in Costa Rica, Karla created a business that celebrates heritage, quality, and sustainability. Her coffee is thoughtfully sourced from family farms in Costa Rica, where growers are dedicated to environmentally friendly practices and exceptional beans. During the Idea TestLab, Karla refined her business model, tested her concept, and earned 2nd place in the final pitch competition. She also received a total of $4,000 in Imagine Your Business Grant funding to help bring her vision to life—$2,000 upon completing TestLab and another $2,000 in summer 2024.
Karla’s family farm’s traditional processing techniques, combined with her careful roasting methods right here in Reading, PA, bring out the rich, unique flavors of each bean—creating a variety of roasts that honor her heritage and offer something special for every coffee lover.
Since completing the program, Karla has become a valued member of the LaunchBox community. We’ve supported her with business strategy development, pricing guidance, website updates, packaging and labeling feedback, and marketing support. She’s received legal assistance through the Penn State Law Clinic, met coaches and advisors, and connected with local shops interested in carrying her coffee.
