Tune in to celebrate the innovation of our first annual Wondrous Wearables Exhibition. We will show off the submissions, announce the distinguished creations and announce the prize winners. This awesome display of talent, creativity, and of course plastic, will be sure to amaze and allow you to realize the only limit on innovation is your imagination.

This exhibition’s mission is to celebrate the ingenuity of makers everywhere while providing the opportunity for GoggleWorks visitors to better understand the digital making process.

Exhibit runs from Feb. 21, 2021 to Mar. 21, 2021 Make an appointment through the GoggleWorks website to see all submissions in person.

Projects to be picked up by March 30, 2021 or remain as exemplary works of innovation at Berks Launchbox Makerspace after the show.

DIRECTIONS FOR SUBMISSIONS
  • Item can be worn OR a hand held device you keep on your person
  • Up to 3 artworks per maker may be submitted
  • Only physical works will be displayed
  • Size limitation: 6” length 6” width 8” height
  • Works must primarily consist of digitally created works (3D printed, laser cut, digital cutter, other digital processes)
  • If artwork is in pieces, submit photo of finished work so it can be re-assembled correctly
  • Originality Clause: Open source files are allowable, but the creations/ final product must be your own unique/original design.

Photography and Permissions Accepted
Artists agree to allow GoggleWorks and Penn State Berks LaunchBox to photograph work while on display for educational and publicity purposes. Images will be retained for GoggleWorks and Penn State archives and may be reproduced and posted on its website and in printed materials. It is understood that works in the exhibition may be photographed, telecast, and reproduced for press and publicity purposes including but not limited to reproduction in newspapers, periodicals, magazines, in television programs and on the internet in connection with the exhibition and GoggleWorks Center for the Art or Penn State.

The Berks LaunchBox is a unique partnership with Penn State Berks which brings to GoggleWorks a makerspace with fabrication tools for businesses, artists, and the community as well as curricular courses through Penn State and a dynamic coworking space. The Berks LaunchBox offers mentoring for early stage startups, accelerator programs, entrepreneurship workshops, coworking space for startups, and a makerspace with equipment for prototyping.


About the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts
Located in the former Willson Goggle Factory building, GoggleWorks is the largest center of its kind in the country. The five-story, 145,000-square-foot complex features seven large teaching studios in ceramics, hot and warm glass, metalsmithing, photography, printmaking, and woodworking; 35 juried studios for artists and makers working in a variety of mediums; and dozens of music, arts, and other cultural organizations. The complex also includes several major exhibition galleries, a 131-seat theatre, a restaurant and retail space featuring the works created on site and beyond. GoggleWorks is open daily from 9am-9pm; admission and parking are always free.
